After working as a field biologist and botanist with the US Forest Service, He felt that he could reach more people with the message of resource conservation and wild lands preservation as a high school teacher. "Plus, I get an opportunity to encourage my students to consider science as career."

What advice do you have for the kids who want to do something like this:

"Finish high school. Take as many science courses as you can. Volunteer in your community. Seek summer employment with a state or federal institution that manages our nation's natural resources. Go out of your way to meet people that do what you want to do and seek out ways to help them."Shadow" them as they work if you can."
