Ecology of the Mohave tui Chub

Mohave tui Chub prefer lower water temperatures and cooler waters. They also require higher levels of dissolved oxygen (DO) and are not that good of swimmers. Because of this, they prefer slower moving streams that have rapids somewhere along there length as this aerates the water. For more detailed information read Jeff Lovich's account (as of 1998) of the Mohave tui Chub at http://www.ca.blm.gov/pdfs/cdd_pdfs/tuiChub1.PDF.

This is a picture of a Chub taken from Lake Tuendae during a recent fish survey.

This is another Chub taken from the lake during the same survey. The fish were weighed and measured, as seen here, and returned to the lake.
